Today, it's been a week since I've been in hospital. No one has been to visit me. The nurses have nicknamed me "The Lonely One." FML

What about your family?! In any case, dont assume it's bc people don't care about you. My friend had cancer and I only went to see her once (although we kept in touch other ways) because my life was hectic at the time and her hospital was over an hour away with no convenient bus routes (I couldn't drive yet) but I still cared.

You think that sucks? I had the bunions on both of my feet repaired over the summer. I was in crutches for 5 weeks for each foot and another 3 weeks each limping without crutches. Only one friend bothered to stop by that entire time.

Don't fret OP, it could simply be that your true friends just don't want to be a bother and font visit do that you can get the rest you need to get healthy, or they simply may think you don't want any visitors. I know personally when I'm in the hospital I tend to look like shit and although it doesn't b

Got cut off, I was trying to finish by saying although it doesn't bother me personally many people are self conscious about how the look/smell(especially if it is a stonach issue)when stuck in a hospital bed and your friends may not want you to be embarrassed and would prefer to check up on you once your home. Or maybe there planning a huge welcome home party

Ur family members are jerk asses, an to ur parents how can u not visit ur own kid??

Think about it this way: At least there is nobody around to watch you spout obscene gibberish thanks to some very powerful painkillers. I've been in that position more than a few times.

I have been in and out of hospital my whole life, the longest stay being around 5 weeks after a major op. I had to learn to walk again after it and was very cranky as I was in constant pain. My mum and dad visited at times and the ward sister would sometimes dress me and take me to the lovely little hospital church or push me around in my chair in the grounds. I filled any loneliness I had by climbing in my chair and visiting other wards to talk to people. The old woman in one ward loved it. This happened when I was 11
