Today, it's Christmas Day. Normally, my family would be opening gifts right now. Instead, my mom is holding our gifts hostage until we clean the house. Apparently, "The presents aren't going anywhere." FML

Unless you have a 5 story mansion with tons of rooms and she wants you to clean all windows, floors, ceiling etc then it's not really that bad.

Then clean the house? Don't be so ungrateful. I showed up at my parents in time to help do the dishes and the only gift bought and given this year was to my parents dog, formerly mine. The whole family bought a dog bed... Damn good Christmas, too.

Christmas is not about gifts OP. It's about the birth of Jesus Christ. Go to church. Donate. Give. If there were no gift giving than I'm sure 99% of people won't care about Christmas... Seriously...
