so am i the only person to have gotten a used car when i got my license and a brand new car a month later at age 17? i dont think he was out of line to ask for a better car. and i think the point is that he expected a car and got a book...big difference there.

I haven't read all the comments, but I feel like I'm the only one who considered the possibility that the OP's car might ACTUALLY be a piece of crap. Maybe it breaks down. Maybe the gas mileage sucks. Maybe the air conditioner doesn't work right. Maybe he's had to make a lot of repairs to it. Or maybe no0t. But regardless, I think the point/punchline of this fml was that he got a book on photography and doesn't even own a camera. It's a gift, and it's nice, but it's kind of useless to him if he doesn't have a camera or isn't interested in photography.

Stupid spoiled asshole. I can almost guarantee I won't have my own car until I pay for one myself. I bet the I don't own a camera was fake just so you could make it seem "worse", well honestly you sound a bit to spoiled to not have a camera. FML is nothing but fake's these days.
