Today, it's my mother's birthday. She received the ultimate gift from my brother, who told her he had just been accepted into medical school. I bought her scratch-offs. She won a dollar. FML

I would have gotten her something more sentimental. It's your mom, not your friend.

It's the thought that counts right? Well it's your mom, I'm sure she loved your gift regardless of what it was. Wish her a happy bday for me!

At least yours wont cost her money.

But your brother didn't reward HER he got HIMSELF something YOU got HER money.

Looks like someone forgot to tap the brakes on this sentence.

Scratch offs are a perfect way of making someone feel like a loser and yet still making them feel remembered.

What if the mother likes lottery tickets ? Who says the brother will graduate from college ? Getting in to study medicine is fairly easy compared with studying, qualifying and completing registration.

What If on your moms way to cash in the ticket she finds $100 on the sidewalk.

Sounds like two crappy birthday presents to me...

Seriously?! Scratch offs?! What kind of gift is that?
