Not every noise is someone sneaking around or something bad, it could be any number of things like rodents or the house just creaking, bushes moving from the wind, etc. You'll see, living on your own isn't scary, it's liberating. Also, you could get a dog (I'd like to get a rottie) or a gun (and learn how to handle it properly of course), or learn some self defense training (I learned Brazilian jiu jistu).
Its a new environment, don't worry OP.
Get sheath for your knife and spray so you don't have to run for them.
i know how you feel i just started living by myself too im already sleeping with my sais under my pillow and i think my apt is haunted
Get a gun
It's more common than you think.
I'm pretty sure everyone goes through that.. especially in a new house all alone.. lol No worries! :) I got a big dog and I learned to just watch him.. if he didn't get bothered then I didn't get bothered.

call a friend over fora night or two! or get a dog, he'll keep ya safe :)
Maybe if you get to know your neighbors it may help or accept the fact there are ghosts at your place and just welcome them
