Today, it's my third night of finally living on my own in a house. I can't count the number of times I have run to my knife and pepper spray after hearing "suspicious" sounds. Maybe I'm not ready to be an adult after all. FML

call a friend over fora night or two! or get a dog, he'll keep ya safe :)

Maybe if you get to know your neighbors it may help or accept the fact there are ghosts at your place and just welcome them

I also wouldn't take a makeshift username too seriously =}

Keep the pepperspray in your pocket or on the bedside table and as for the knife well buy a sheath so you can strap it to your leg?

You need a puppy...no and older, previously trained, housebroken dog.

You should get a dog, I hear Labradors are very popular!

Give it time. You'll get used to living on your own.

I grew up in a house with my parents and older brother, so there was always someone home. When I was alone, it wasn't very long. After I moved out when I was 18, it was "too quiet" and I did get a little creeped out. I kept the tv turned on during the day, since it calmed me, and made the house feel more lived in. You eventually get used to it. Living alone, you miss having your parents there sometimes. You don't realize how much they do for you till you are on your own. If possible, get a pet to keep you company. My australian cattle dog was the best companion and took my mind off of living alone.

This is exactly like that College Humor video: The Six Roommates! In that case, don't worry OP, it's probably just the Cthulhu.

Perhaps you should carry it with you until it stabilizes a bit?

Is there a way to view the rest of the OP's username?
