Today, it was a little colder than it should be for this time of year, and as a result I was using the heater in my car. Apparently within the last four months, a mouse managed to make his way into my heater vent and die. I can not get the smell of death out of my car. FML

Sorry OP. We bought a car and the previous owner smoked in it. It was barely noticable, and after a couple of months it didn't smell at all anymore. Untill Fall came and we turned the heat on. Oh. My. *******. God. It's been YEARS and the smell of deathsticks comes back when we turn the heat on.

the only solution I can think of for this is that you should get a new car. Or loan your car to someone else and blame them for the stench in your car. Idk... that second one probably wouldn't work, though. Haha

I recall reading that there are professional cleaners for such cases, that can get rid of the smell of some living creature rotting in your car, or other horrible things. perhaps you should try to contact one of those. a car is worth too much to be dumped just because a rat died in your car.

fabreze? they make it seem like it works on everything! or somethin with lemon in it. but yes, fyl! :(

Speak your mind, but please try and be respectful.

I was thinking the same thing.

Try burning a sulfur candle, or a regular candle (in a metal container) with a LITTLE sulfur added. H2S + SO2 = S + H2O

you should work at my job and use the company vehicle, your car will smell like roses after. now that's death! hahaha
