I really feel sorry for people who think the parents are at fault here. When they have kids of their own they will have to widen doorways just to make their kids feel that its ok to be the shape of a beach ball and not hurt their feelings.
#61: Yes, fat people are the ones who make themselves fat. They're the ones continuing to shovel food into their mouths even when they realize that they're overweight. At the beginning of high school I realized I was getting fat so I stopped eating all the time and got more exercise, and look at me now: not fat at all. This whole sympathy for the obese is one of the big problems with the health of Americans. It's like telling a lung cancer patient that they can continue smoking. Stop encouraging the fat to "be happy with their weight" and start encouraging them to live a healthier lifestyle.
yea right.. your lying or exaggerating for sure? everyone of them? haha right...
that sounds like something my mom would do
#84 you are right on the money! More people need to say it as it is!
I sort of agree, but sometimes genetics plays a part in it. I'm of the sort to say, As long as you exercise, and live a healthy lifestyle (eat junk food sparingly) you should be fine. I don't agree with trying to be skinny as a toothpick though. (I don't mind being women being naturally skinny, but idealizing that is a bad idea I like my breasts and that I have junk in the trunk. According to the BMI I would be considered overweight, although I go to the gym 6-7 times a week for 2 hours, eat 3 balanced meals a day, and a size 8, 5'4. I'm sorry your parents did that, OP. I'd hate it too in the past when my parents would bring up my weight, but OP, I would heed what they say a little bit. Maybe it will help you in the long run? *After my parents mentioned my weight, I got sick of them doing it, so I started walking and going to the gym. Now they're flabbergasted. And trust me, they would make mean jokes about me being non-active, like, ". . . was so stationary in the womb, and she's still like that."
#89 that's because very athletic people are often overweight according to BMI, because a lot of their weight is muscle. not because you're naturally heavier. also, going to the gym 6 days a week sounds like excessive exercise, stop giving people advice when you're doing unhealthy things. about the OP - being mean to people who are overweight because they are overweight often doesn't make them lose weight, but gain weight. I doubt most noticeably overweight people lack reasons to lose weight, but some comfort eat when they feel bad, and these kind of things just make them feel bad, making their situation worse.
Haha, awesome!

Wow. Next holiday (maybe Christmas) give your mom a note in a Tiffany's box that says, "Maybe when you pull that pine cone out of your ass" and give your dad the same note in an equally exciting box.
Ouch, that's mean ... They could have just filled your eggs with money instead of candy, which would've been a subtle hint. That was harsh.
