I remember Gillette sent my older brother two on his birthday because our last name was (incorrectly) spelled two different ways. So I was excited when my 18th birthday rolled around, because I wanted my free razor. It never came :(

And Im sure you never said anything to any of your friends to mention your impending birthday. I hate when people do that. Hell, my mom CALLS people so they can tell her Happy Birthday, lol. It sounds like you were being all self-pitying and created a nice little self-fulfilling prophecy by "testing" people to see if they'd tell you Happy Birthday.

Doubt it. I went on for two weeks before my 16th birthday, and still everyone, family included, forgot. It sucked. FYL OP. Hope it's better next year!

Haha, yes. Slightly! I have had far too many friends do the pity ploy to see if anyone is going to remember. I said somewhere below, I have 6 siblings and multiple other family members to remember. It's easy to forget someone's bday when you aren't reminded. I try to avoid this by putting people's bdays in my phone to remind me, but sometimes, I just forget. Ive seriously had people get pissed about it before, though.
