Today, it was my next-door neighbor's birthday. Over the past year, his pitbull has attacked my stepdad several times and put some stiches on me. Lucky for us, the dog was finally put down. For his birthday my neighbor got a new, bigger, pitbull. FML

Not all pitbulls are mean, maybe you'll get lucky and this one won't be.

this is bullshit. pits are amazing dogs, maybe its the owner whos the dumbass and raising them to be aggressive. its basically like raising a kid, teach them to rape and murder and 9 times out of 10 they'll grow up with the mindset that its ok. its people who dont understand this that give pits a bad rep, and another reason that theyre nearly outlawed.

All of you getting angry at OP because she and her stepdad were attacked by a pitbull need to chill out! Honestly, all of you getting all pissy are actually make the breed look worse than it is since you're all being overly sensitive about it. Obviously, OP's neighbor does not know how to properly handle/train dogs, let alone a pitbull. She has every right to be unhappy about him getting another one, this guy shouldn't be allowed to have dogs at all. You shouldn't be so damn surprised when you hear about aggressive pitbulls because any badly trained dog can be dangerous. They're animals, of course they can be vicious if not handled properly. There's no reason to be such assholes about the OP specifying the dog breed. In most FMLs, I have seen the OP specify the breed in the FML, probably because people will ask what kind of dog it was anyway. Now quit being overly sensitive jerks, you're only showing that those of you who own or support pitbulls are crazy. The biggest reason the breed gets a bad name is because of you people who overreact if you hear the slightest negative thing about pitbulls and then flip out and slit throats over it. A dog is only as good as its owner, regardless of the breed. I'm so sick of you people. Grow up already, none of you should have pitbulls if you're going to react like that every time you hear anything bad about them.

For your birthday, ask for a new, bigger shotgun.

Dogs are aggressive because of the owner, not because of the breed. Just because the last was aggressive does not mean this one will be. Glad to hear you two are no longer attacked. Hopefully things will be better with the new dog.

Pit bulls only learn from the owner so he must have taught him that

That is really scary and unfortunate. My friend's neighbor had 2 pit mixes that were really friendly and then one day when she was walking home from school they jumped the gate and attacked her. They got her head and really mauled up her ear. It took like 6 months for them to finally be put down.

Most time a pit attacks, it is because it experiences a situation at home and and something you did or say is similiar to the situation it had to go through, and it dodnt want to be in that siuation. Usually a painful one, like mistreatment, abuse, etc. i suggest of this new dog attacks as well, alert your authorities of a suspected animal abuse.

It all depends on how the pitbull was raised. Bad owner=bad dog.

Lol maybe yall should call the authorities if this pitbull bites yall. Dont be bitches tho when it comes to the dog meeting you. Show him your bigger and stronger than him. And dont automatically assume he will bite you. Ive done essays on pitbulls and generally speaking they dont bite alot of people they are very nice dogs.
