Who takes a job without finding out what their salary is? Fake as fake can be.
Oh, FYL, you accidently volunteered your time to a worthy cause. And you're actually ticked about this? What an asshole you must be!
Uh, maybe he actually NEEDS the money. People are being so judgmental and saying he shouldn't be upset about volunteering, but he probably isn't much better off than the people Habitat for Humanity builds for and was just happy to have a source of income. It's not like he said anything disrespectful about the charity.
how do you assume that it was "supposed to be payday?" this part of your FML throws me off. did you ask someone what day was payday and then waited for your check or did you just try an calculate what day payday would fall on? either way this is too bizarre to be true.
Yeah but when you start a job you have to ask when payday is to know when you will be getting your check. If you get paid biweekly but you start the week everyone else gets paid that week goes on the NEXT pay check, not the one that is coming the first week. You would have to wait 3 weeks. So all in all even knowing that pay is biweekly does not let you know when pay day is.
The pronunciation of Payday is exactly like "Peidei", which means "I just farted" in Portuguese! haha
Fake, 2 reasons: 1. The aforementioned payday thing. In order for you to assume and expect a paycheck on a certain day, someone would have had to tell you this. In California, there are many different schemes of reimbursement within the construction industry and no reasons to automatically assume one of them. Even if you guessed the most common, every second Friday, then how would you know which Fridays? Furthermore, you wouldn't have given them any information necessary to pay you, ie social security ##. 2. HFH is very clear about who they are and what they're doing. As a charity and donation funded org, they have signs at every single project and talk to anyone who opens up a dialog, that's how they get the word out and keep surviving. Not only would you have been exposed to this public image effort right away, but if you signed up you would have gone through an orientation about how to participate in it. SO, I hit "I agree, your life sucks", because it must be pretty rough to be both so bored you need to sit here and fake posts to FML, AND so stupid that said posts come out really obvious.
^^^This. The hell did you not realize it was a volunteer job? You have to go through shitloads of paperwork for a paid position, and Habitat For Humanity is VERY obvious about their non-profit position and volunteer workforce. Oh, and did I mention that Habitat For Humanity usually has "Built by Habitat For Humanity" signs ALL OVER THE CONSTRUCTION GROUNDS? Not to MENTION that, as I well know from personal experience, they have at least one orientation session for ANYONE who volunteers with them. FYL for being either A) THE most idiotic person alive today. B) An ass who wrote a fake FML.
Not everyone has had this kinda stuff explained to them. Example: I know people who try to trick stereotypical homeless people into this kinda stuff. Could of happened.
OIF_my_life, take the crayon out of your brain.
Soooo the lack of signing your w2's or and other HR style documents didn't tip you off? Are you claiming someone made up documents to sign and tricked you? Fishy.
Obiosuly fake. If you go to a Habitat build, there are loads of signs, and the managers often wear Habitat for Humanity shirts. Plus, how do you not discuss the strategy first?

wait.... where did you get the idea that "Today, it was supposed to be payday"..... did you just guess?
Don't you read applications? Well, at least you did a good deed!
