That's just wrong. You don't have fears because you were raised that way. Just because an adult wouldn't assist the toddler, doesn't mean the toddler is at fault. You'd sure be pissed if you were young or old and no one listened.
Mother in laws = Satan
I truly feel for you, OP. FYL indeed.
"I need to go potty" "No you don't" "Bitch, how the Hell do you know what I feel? Do you feel my colon contraction, the rumble-y in my tummy?"
I would be livid if any adult did this to my daughter. The fact that it was her grandma somehow makes it seem worse. I think it's important to talk to your daughter about it. She needs to know this wasn't her fault abd that she did exactly what she is supposed to do. Otherwise, she may think did something wrong and that you're disappointed in her, even though you're not. A child having negative feelings towards potty training can cause a minor setback to become a major one. Tell her that you're proud of her for recognizing--all on her own, rather than needing to be asked-- that she needed to go potty and for telling an adult right away
1. take the crap from your daughter's pants and shove it into MIL's face. 2. just an observation, why do americans seem to only potty train their kids when they are 2 or older? I'm used to people starting potty training as soon as the kid can walk.
she may have been trying to potty train her for a while. with a bitch of a MIL like that who knows what other setbacks have happened.
ahhh gotta love the in-laws..lol I had some trouble training my daughter, what we had to do was go to the dollors store an buy enough age appropriate small toys and put them in a shoe box that we decorated together wen she would use the bathroom like a "big girl" she got to pick a toy worked really well an it only costed about $15 dollors to potty train her and this method can be used for awile for many different things and it's not spoiling them cuz they half to earn it. good luck!
I'd put my mother-in-law in her place! That is absolutely wrong of her

That was incredibly rude of your mother-in-law. She should be supporting and helping you in your potty training adventures! Kids need constant reenforcement in order to understand. Best of luck OP.
This might help, kids at that age don't want to have dirty papers/underwear. Especially if she knows what the potty is.
