Today, my 20-year-old came whining to me, asking why his job interviews keep going so poorly. I had to delicately explain that the "PIMP SLAP" tattoo he had put on his right hand recently may have something to do with it. FML

He has the right mindset: Life's a bitch, be it's pimp. I'd say that shows great life motivation and perseverance in front of challenges, don't see why he wasn't taken.

OP, I've gotta say, your son is a dumbass

Tell him to do a Michael Jackson move and wear a sparkly white glove. Hopefully it will distract and charm his future employer, especially if he moon walks into the room.

get more tattoo, looks great for interviews.

In that case he has only three options. 1) Get the tattoo removed. 2) Wear a glove over it of a type that won't interfere with the job and just claim it's because he has a horrific looking injury, which is only a slight exaggeration. or the most obvious one 3) become a pimp.

Why be delicate? I would have told him he was a moron and severely limited his potential when he first can't home with it.

May as well get unemployed tattooed cross his forehead....then again I have a tattoo...hmm am I hypocritical?

I doubt you have a tattoo on your forehead/hands. :) I have tattoos on my arms and at work/interviews I wear long sleeves shirts when anywhere near customers, if I'm in the kitchen/store room I have rolled up sleeves as only staff will see me. Why didn't you stop him when he got "pimp slapped", OP

I have one on my ankle, it's there so when I'm at work I don't get in trouble. Still, people who tattoo visible parts of their bodies and still expect a good job dumbfound me to no end.

I do not think that your son knows what "personal appearance" is!

Kids these days are idiots when it comes to tattoos. There never think ahead and how they might affect what kind of jobs they can get in the future.

I resent that. I am 20 and got my first tattoo at 16. I thought about what they were and where they are and how they will look after 30 years. Not every young person is an idiot. Dont stereotype.

Good luck, on the Internet/real life people will always stereotype. Like yourself, my tattoos were thought out, designed by myself and have meaning too then (mostly medical health and overcoming illness), but not everyone goes through that thought process.

Agreed, we aren't all stupid thank you very much.

I have four tattoos and they are all hidden. As I'm going to work in the NHS I can't have an visible ones. So I planned ahead and I wasn't an idiot.

Well, he could become a tattoo artist. Sorry, OP, but you raised a total dumbass.
