UMM THEIR RABBIT DIES AND UUUUUURRR LIFE SUX?
I can see both sides of the argument right now with clarity of being both a someone who has owned a rabbit and currently owns a snake. I have a ball python that is about 2 and a half feet long who has a very calm temperament and will sit calmly on your shoulders, explore your hair and loves to be held. Snakes aren't all dangerous creatures if you train them properly and handle them properly. Many bad snake owners who are misinformed or just dumb give those of us who have taken the time to properly care and maintain our snakes a bad rep. I have to give it to the snake though. They are bright and cunning creatures that can escape from cages even with locks on them if you don't pay attention to them. They usually only hunt if they are hungry but since the average snake only eats once every couple of weeks maybe longer depending on what it was fed last as a snake owner it can be hard to tell whether or not the snake is ready to eat again. Though it is the rabbit owner's fault too for not keeping an eye on their pet, especially one that is small and doesn't have much of a chance against a bigger predator (dogs, large birds, and big snakes). Rabbits are smart creatures too that can be trained to do all sorts of things but they aren't able to defend themselves very well so its the owner's fault for not keeping an eye on their pet too. I know that if I even let the cat outside I have to watch her or it is my fault if she gets hit by a car. Sorry both of you are at fault and it will be terrible if the snake has to pay the price, goodness knows the rabbit already has.
#91, nowhere in #87's post was it stated that rabbits are intelligent. I have owned both pets as well and share the stance #87 so nicely worded. Domesticated snakes already have a fairly bad reputation and for the most part don't deserve it; rabbits are thought of to be timid and peaceful creatures. One just happens to be higher on the food chain and if anybody cares to debate that fact purely because you like fur instead of scales, please contact your closest 7th grade bio teacher. Again having owned both species, rabbits tend to have less intelligence when it comes to avoiding death. Sorry Thumper.
i'd rather have an escaped rabbit than an escaped snake.
But it escaped from its cage, didn't it? That's got to require some sort of ingenuity.
There is such an unfathomable amount of sexual references that can be applied to this, so I won't even bother.

My 6 foot snake constricted your mom last night
At least it wasn't constricting them.
