Today, my apartment complex added $250 to the $1,000 my roomate and I already owe because of an unauthorized pet and complaints from neighbors that our dog barks all night long. We don't have a dog, we don't even have a pet. FML

this is just like the other FML where a guy got fined $200 when his/her neighbors complained about the dog...but it turns out he didn't own a dog...even if your story is real, keep it to yourself because no one wants to read repeats of lame FMLs.

I would say, "I don't have a dog." Instead of writing a FML about it, and paying 250 dollars for nothing. The most disturbing part of this is that this extra 250 dollars isn't really the FML. The FML is this, "I just found out today I'm an idiot because my rent was increased by 250 dollars because the landlord mistakenly thought I owned a pet dog and I just accepted it and complained online about how my life sucks."

They have to first check your apartment to find out if you have a dog. I would fight it and say that you've never had a dog in the apartment. The landlord has to prove it first which of coarse he can't
