Tell him/her a co-worker (no snitching on who) told you that you might be fired so you just wanted to start looking at other jobs to be safe.
my phone opens apps by mistake all the time. I'm sure it won't be a big deal unless you allow it to impact your behavior at work
Oh wow, I feel bad for your boss. Sounds like a chill person. If/When you leave, you might want to do something special. Good luck on that new job!
At least it wasn't ****
phones never fail to embarrass you
I know it looks pretty bad, but it's not really a big deal, unless he's an asshole. If he's more of a serious, professional type of guy, he'll probably pretend he didn't see it.
should have tried to pass it off as an ad and closed it
Phones **** pretty much everything up: jobs, relationships, and even other conversations. Hopefully, your boss didn't take it the wrong way, and you can explain it.
Yikes.
I think you could play this of fairly easy. Just say "Hey look, the app I used to find this job is still on here!" Done.

Always be sure to close out of your apps before locking your phone...
Man, that's gotta sting.
