How big of a raise did you think you were getting that you thought you could afford a $1500 bag? You're an idiot.
#6 +1
I don't think I understand.. Did you leave work in the middle of the day to go buy the bag? In that case you DO deserve to have your raise rescinded. I assume you used a credit card to buy the bag. Return it immediately.
She said he CALLED her... It could have been her day off or something
Ugh, why would you do that? $1500??????! seriously?! for a fricken purse?! you could have at least bought something productive, like a laptop, or like half a year's worth of gas! ehhhhh. sounds like my sister...$200 for a pair of 'fashionably' ripped jeans that can wash once before falling apart...
The OP said bag, not purse. Still, not worth it.
Looks like we have plenty of Chanel employees here or something. We're not saying it's wrong to spend money on yourself, or that it was fair for the boss to 'trick' her (although I doubt he'd just called her in and said 'just kidding!'). But I don't know how anybody less than a millionaire can justify a) spending money immediately after being told you're possibly getting a raise, b) spend that much money right away without thinking of alternatives, and c) spend $1500 on a frickin bag just because it comes from a certain designer. The only way I'd ever spend that much money on a bag is if it had room to store 100x its volume, had a radio and TV, and a smart AI with a personality to talk to me. Short of that, I doubt a $100 or less would break if you put the same amount of stuff in it. My $25 watch from Target looks almost as nice as my friend's $200 watch, so why spend the extra money?
I'm a woman, but I think women who buy $1500 purses are reason enough for men to be misogynistic. Seriously.
BAG, not purse. Get the point, though.
@9 - Celebrating by taking friends to eat or paying for drinks is hell of a better way than buying a freaking bag...experiences last a lot longer than possessions, and fashions changes each season @24 - if you need to spend $1500 on a bag to make them "look nice" (not sure how a designer bag makes you look nice, other than adds to your "status")....that's just sad
MOST OF THE COMMENTS ON HERE ARE MEAN! IT WAS AN HONEST MISTAKE! GIVE THE POOR GIRL A BREAK! And most girls don't spend money they don't have, shame on all of you for indulging into a stereotype against women! Men spend thousands of dollars on car parts and shit they don't need. If a girl wants a 1500$ handbag thats her own buisness
I will refute your argument with one sentence: ITS JUST A ******* BAG!!!!! Also, for $1500 you could provide desperately needed food to dozens of Hatian earthquake victims or at least spend it on something that isn't priced at 1,000,000% of what it cost to make!
A bag holds stuff. Car parts take you places. A $1500 bag, unless this bag is hand-woven over decades by people living in the Amazon jungle by the natives with solid gold plating, anyone that stupid to waste $1500 on a ******* bag deserves to be put to sleep (Gassed, preferably by Zyklon-B) EPIC. FAIL.

It was stupid on your bosses part, but even more stupid on your part. Here is some advice for you: don't spend money that you don't have! But, I guess anyone who spends $1500 on a handbag wouldn't be smart enough to do that. The next time you want to throw away money like that, give it to me and I'll use it to spend on my tuition.
Is his name Michael Scott?
