no, no, that's bullshit. He can't do that. What an asshole. what a giant freaking asshole.
Please ignore the idiots saying that you're screwed because you live in a Right To Work state. That has absolutely nothing to do with what grounds you can be terminated on. All it means is that you have the right to work regardless of union membership, and that if you work somewhere that a union has negotiated pay/benefits for, you do not need to pay fees to the union. What might get you in trouble is the concept of At Will employment. But this doesn't mean you're screwed just because this isn't an issue of protected class! In fact, legally speaking, there are cases where you can be wrongly terminated. For instance: if your employer has specific rules for the termination process (most do, to help protect against discrimination lawsuits), you may have a lawsuit if they did not follow the process. But, yeah. Basically this has fuckall to do with Right To Work and everything to do with At Will employment. If it bugs you, talk to a lawyer. Otherwise… eh.
Oh wtf... please tell me you went above his head on that!??
I feel like you could and should report that.
If your work has an H.R talk to them he can't fire you for that.
Sue him for wrongful termination.

Is that even legal?
