Today, my boss informed me I couldn't go on my "vacation" because he's leaving for one of his employees' weddings. That just so happens to be my wedding, for which I'm taking the vacation. FML

Thanks guys for the support and funny comments. I spoke to our manager and asked her to clear it up with our boss. Luckily he was willing to listen to her so I received an apology and a raise!

Uninvite him to the wedding, then he has nowhere to go. PROBLEM SOLVED!

Your boss sounds like the kind of stupidity which makes this world so wrong. I'd go anyway.

I feel like I've seen this in another (older) FML...

That's a moment in time where we really wish the online game "Whack Your Boss" could happen and then restart once you get your rage out to avoid charges for murder or assault

If only I had a universal remote I would do that.

I was reading your comment when with the corner of my eye I saw your profile pic, and I immediately thought THAT'S DEAN without even properly looking at it, hah! *thumbs up*

Your boss would be a bloody legend if it turned out to be a joke. fingers crossed.

I can't stand reading stupid FMLs like this. Obviously it was a playful joke.

Tell him your in the wedding party and have to be there. When you see him at the wedding and he realizes you're the groom - don't explain or embarrass him just give him a knowing look that says - bet your embarrassed now. Don't have to be smug or rude. He will feel stupid. Bosses hate to be wrong. You keep the wedding and job this way. Making demands doesn't make a career for long or a good rep no matter how right you are the real world sucks and isn't fair. If you let him off easy without embarrassing him publicly he should hopefully remember your tact and manners and your handling a sticky situation professionally. A new marriage is tough enough without being unemployed.

Bride, not groom. OP replied yesterday.

Apparently you're smarter than your boss....which is the real FML
