Today, my boss threw out the report I wrote for the board of directors. He said that if it were legal, he'd smash me in the balls with a brick for using Comic Sans. I had to do the whole thing again in another font with my coworkers snickering at me. FML

I created an account just to ask this: How high were you to think that Comic Sans is a professional enough font to use to send a report to the board of directors? Might as well throw in emoticons in your report. " LOL Our profits are in the toilet T_T :((("

1) YDI for using comic sans in a professional situation. 2) YDI for apparently deleting your report after printing it, whereas if you had saved it all you had to do was ctrl+a and change the font. I would overlook you in all future promotion opportunities if you were my employee, especially after bitching about it on the internet.

#72, I disagree. If I was his boss I'd make him do it all again because the quality of his report is probably about the quality of Comic Sans. I am so sick of all these 'Professionals' who use that ******* font! YDI, dumbass.

Unless the boss was reading the report while sitting at OPs computer I strongly suspect that the OP meant that the boss threw out the printed hard copy. I've worked for some mean spirited and cruel bosses in my time but i still can't imagine any of them deleting the original file off my computer so i had to write the report over again. At least not unless the content of the report was as poorly executed as the OPs judgment in font selection. Re-reading the original post there is nothing to imply if he had to write it again or simply reformat and hit print. While the bosses comments were curt i would expect the OP will put more thought into how they complete assignments.

You don't ever, EVER use Comic Sans for anything you want taken seriously. Let alone for a professional document, God might as well of used Wing Dings if you're gonna act unprofessional. I am being serious, for anything you are submitting to a higher up, whether it be for work or school use Times New Roman; Calibri is acceptable as well from my experience. When in doubt always Times New Roman.

In OPs defence, comic sans has been proven to be more easily readable by dyslexics. Maybe they're a sufferer?

While that is very possible, there are other, less ridiculous looking, fonts that were specially designed to ease issues with reading caused by dyslexia. Also, he could have written it in Comic Sans and changed the font at the end.

I... What? Who uses Comic Sans? You're an adult with a job and you chose Comic Sans? I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just honestly shocked right now. Use Times New Roman, Arial, Calibri, something... Not Comic Sans, never Comic Sans. You should've just wrote it in Wingdings, it's probably better than Comic Sans, lol.
