Nooo! Text dumps are NEVER okay, especially when the recipients a gun nut.
Hopefully, the threats have been reported to the police. You can ask to have security present when you let him go. If they refuse, you have the right to refuse to do it if you believe it to be unsafe.
"Attention freedom fighter (suck up a bit), my boss...our boss, not me, says you're fired. Not me though."
Hey, HelpMe1, is that your employee, Jobless, over there? He just seems misunderstood. Perhaps he's just a teddy bear caught in a rough looking man's body. He really does seem like he wants to make a positive change and spread some cheer and goodwill to others. :) Seriously, though just talk to him and explain to him why he's needing to be let go. Then see if your supervisor will be willing to give him a 30 day or so probation period to see if he can change rather than a full-on severance. Sometimes people will take that opportunity and make a 180 turn around, esp if they have family and really need the income to support their loved ones. There may be a domestic issue going on that's making him irrationally angry at work because of the stress at home.
Write a note telling him he's fired on a word document, print it, and leave it on his desk.
Leave a note for him that he's fired....don't give your name but your supervisors seeing as they decided to pull that asshat move on you.
Dang! Fired - and on the first day he's come into work feeling positive in as long as he can remember, feeling like he can make good things happen.
If your boss is afraid to fire the guy, then he's an idiot to delegate this task to you. Redirect it to where it should have gone in the first place, HR. It's their job to handle stuff like this. A few very short interviews with the supervisors will be conducted immediately, and police will be called to escort the guy off the premises, and possibly to jail. Don't know the labor laws in Indonesia, but if they're anything like the US then the guy will have his last check h in his pocket as he's escorted out.
Get the police?

Firing anyone sucks, but especially one who makes death threats? That's really nice of your employers to do to you.
Maybe he's a believer in "don't shoot the messenger"
