Haha I love your username
Mexicans destroying the economy? No. Mexican criminals bringing drugs, weapons, organized crime, and people across the border (illegally)? Sadly, yes.
Wow... how embarassing. I wouldn't have said anything, though. Even though the old lady is disgustingly racist, she is probably scene as well and ti would have made the situation very awkward.
The truth? Many illegal immigrants actually do pay taxes, and many take up the most undesirable working jobs in America to diligently support the families, all while holding up the primary sector of America's economic workforce. Illegal trouble-making immigrants are now becoming a minority in this phenomenon, believe it or not - I know illegal immigration is hard to justify, but many of these people are actually hard-working, and they are benefiting the American economy, contrary to popular belief. Now, on the other hand, you have many born and bred Americans out there who don't even lift a finger to work or contribute a dime towards the government as it being their civil duty - they just live off their weekly unemployment cheques, as though it's their God-given right. Of course, I'm not accusing the majority of Americans out there (that'd be naive of me), but there are many amongst you hard-working American people out there who do just this, and turn around and point to the immigration sector - because God forbid we should accuse even one naturalised U.S. citizen as being part of the accountable. Anyway, that's just my viewpoint as an outsider. I still think America is a great country, and its opportunies in abundance to people both near and far are incredibly noble - I think this is more or less what the American Dream was meant to be represented for. It just pains me to also see that America is also currently its own worst enemy. Politics and debates aside, I do believe this elderly woman is disgustingly racist, but judging from her probable age, she was most likely raised with ideals from the Depression. It's no excuse really, but she's also probably astonishingly senile so eh, just brush it off, OP. I'd be very surprised if your boyfriend didn't make any attempt to stand up for you though.
I wonder how she feels about Black people. And I wonder what she said after she left from the first dinner. One thing I know for certain is I wouldn't be having any more meals with Grandma. There's no telling what she'll say next time.

Oh Grandma, is your Alzheimer's acting up again?
Well at least now you know if you ever mess up in front of her, she'll forget about it within a week!
