cupnoodles tells us more.
OP here! My boyfriend bought regular cup noodles, but our building uses electricity for hot water. We ended up buying one of those hot plates, which was a good investment! Although his comment was really uncalled for, speaking respectfully to #1, I think that everyone has their own issues to deal with. We use this site for each others entertainment and to tell others general issues we have as people. Similarly to how you MIGHT post about getting stuck at home from, what maybe many New Yorkers consider, a little amount of snow and saying FML, I am doing the same about about a, what you consider, little category 1 storm. I hope your mood turns around because taking it out on someone you don't know over the internet will only cause a lot of psychological damage to you and potentially someone who is not self-actualized or confident. The area we live in is currently in danger of a power outage, but I think we're ready for it! Thank you everyone for all their warm prayers and so much more! :)

Freeze-dried foods will last you forever. Where I live, they sell cartons of freeze-dried cherries, which are expensive and yet strangely delicious. If I lose power, that should be my staple diet for the next few days.
That might actually make you sick.
Never send a man food shopping! I've been married 24 yrs & no way would I do that!
My husband does most of the shopping... It makes me grumpy.
You're very lucky! I stopped sending mine when he'd come home & say they're out of T.P. I knew better, called the store & of course they weren't out, he just didn't wanna look!
You should get a generator ;)
Just heat your water on you BBQ pit... If you have one.
Well and I hate to sound logical but a BBQ pit grill is generally movable, so in Theory one could move said grill out of the rain and inside where the fire would have no problem staying lit. (This would also apply to grills, and anything under a fixed gazebo, but if it is a true "fire pit" then your absolutely right. But seeing where they live it is a good guess it wouldn't be a fixed pit)
ok well hows this for logic. now that you want to move said pit inside, you're risking burning your house down. then you'll be outside in the cold wind and rain. same with the grill. bonus points if you want your house to reek of propane and get sick from inhalation. hate to sound logical, but people like you are the reason we get to laugh at stupid warning labels that should be common sense
Dear God. I've gone through hurricanes before and lost electricity for a couple days. You can cook on a little propane burner easily inside your house. If you are worried about dying from fumes, crack open a window. Worried about burning down your house: move the burner away from any flammables. Easy fix.
Alright if you burn your house down with a grill or pit, you deserve to be outside. The little amount of fire it would take to boil water wouldn't smoke up your house, but if your smart about it you put it in a separate room. And crack a window so the air flow pulls the smoke and propane from the room. And yes one room may smell of smoke or propane but if its that or starve? I don't think they need to worry about starving but I'm just pointing out that in a pinch totally possible. And only dangerous of your an incompetent moron.
I really don't think cup noodles are worth that much trouble...
If you know your boyfriend is slightly/significantly stupid, then maybe you should have specified. But nevertheless that is pretty sad and FYL.
OP! Bet he bought condoms too?? =P
Try a sporting goods store and buy a propane stove where the camping goods are and you should be all good! All you'd have to do is boil some water for the noodles and you'll be fine! (: Good luck OP, stay safe!
