Today, my boyfriend asked me to meet his parents over Christmas. I was ecstatic. But there was one condition: I must go dressed as a girl since he hasn't worked up the nerve to come out to his parents yet. We've been dating for over a year. FML

why are people such haters man ? it's your life, if you're gay you're gay. it's not something that should bother them. that's a shame OP, you should sit down and have a talk with your boyfriend and tell him how you feel about this.

FYL indeed OP ... I still don't understand the need to keep this a secret. It's who he is and it should be as natural as everything else he does. Chances are most people around him already know. If he is gay, then be gay. The people that didn't know will figure it out on their own. I'm left-handed, but I don't run around pretending to be right-handed. It's what I am. It's neither a choice nor a preference. It just naturally is, and my parents figured it out on their own. I fail to see how this is any different.

I'm also left handed. Isn't it weird when people notice and pull the the 'did you know' facts (e.g. Left handed people are more creative. E.g. Right hande people live on average 7 years longer.)? To be honest though, many people view being GLBT as a choice (especially Bisexuals and Transgender). That's extremely hindering when trying to convince someone it's who you're meant to be. :/

It's different because people don't judge you, hate you, or make (or carry out) threats against you for being left-handed. Stop acting like it's not a big deal to come out. It absolutely is.
