I've had friends wake me up by texting me with pointless information, so I'm on your boyfriend's side. I wouldn't say that you're exactly needy, but yes it is very aggravating to be woken up with a stupid text message when you finally get a day to sleep in. Of course, now when I plan to sleep late I just turn off the phone the night before.

it's no longer a -good- morning if i get woken up early by a text. because either it's an emergency, which is bad, or it's not, meaning pointless REM cycle disruption. my significant other, more than anyone, should know and honor this. perhaps your boyfriend feels similarly.
