Actually, if she washes her face a few good times, then the marks should fade into being unintelligable (unless someone is staring closely). After that, the permanent marker will just fade away in a few days with regular washings. Until then, she can always style her hair or find a cute hat to cover it up. This problem has an easy solution, but the fact the boyfriend did it is still pretty hurtful.
