my husband did the same thing only I was at the airport . he planned to propose to me in front of everyone , he even asked for my dads blessing at the airport ; and he handed me the box when we got to the car and then he said he forgot the flowers in the car and didn't ask me . he told me his plan and then started the car . I just put the ring on . now I regret not saying anything .

What a great guy you have there, OP. I can see a guy not being comfortable/creative/romantic enough to do a big elaborate proposal. But I mean, come on! Throwing the ring at the girl? That's just awful. If a guy threw a ring at me like that, we definitely wouldn't still be together.
