Today, my boyfriend proposed. Two hours later I get a text from my ex announcing he has just been diagnosed with chlamydia. I now have to explain this to my fiancé. FML

1) He's your ex 2) He has an STD 3) He could have given it to you while you were together It seems pretty damned easy to explain unless I'm missing a step... 4) You're still sleeping with him

So... is this a very fast engagement & wedding (please don't marry someone you have only been serious with for a few months) or have you been cheating on him with your ex? Either way, something does not add up.

I'm pretty sure chlamydia is treatable if I remember correctly. And chlamydia can go literally years undetected so it may not ave been cheating or an overlap. I'm not sure why people jump to the conclusion that they're sleeping together still. She could have dated this guy a year ago. Maybe two. Maybe his doctor discovered its been there for a while? Who knows. But it's never a fun conversation to tell someone you have an STI.

You're clearly missing the point. She probably meant she's worried because maybe he got it from her before they broke up.

Go get checked first, then if you have it tell him, if you don't then make fun of your ex.

This FML made my day. It'd make my day even better if the fiancé posts his FML in the future. "Today, the girl I'm marrying decided to wait til after we had sex that she wasn't a virgin, and her ex gave her an STI. FML."

OP, it could be alot worse. chlamydia is like the cadilac of STD's. at least it aint herpes where that shit pops up for life. were you sleeping with him while you were with your fiance?

well think of this as your "first hump" to get over... and be happy it is cureable.

This would be even better if OP gave the ex the clap. :) No one thought of that.
