Today, my boyfriend set up a very romantic dinner. Afterwards, he offered to wash the dishes while I went upstairs and relaxed. His way of washing the dishes was to scrape all the food off, then wipe the juices off the dishes with a paper towel before putting them back in the cupboards. FML

what's wrong with that? he got them clean! or is this another example of why my boyfriend insists on doing all the cleaning?

I cant believe some people think he actually tried to do the dishes. He obviously made no attempt to clean them properly and just wanted to look like a good bf so he could get a certain favour (dick sucking) in return. Washing dishes is not hard, if he really didn't want to do them then leave them til the morning. A half assed attempt is worse than no attempt.

How is he attempting to "hurry up" or try to do a half assed job? it honestly sounds like it takes a lot more time than just washing it. It sounds like he's just a bit dumb to me, I can't see how this is trying to "hurry up".

he did a half assed job because he chose to do the dishes in such a way that would give his girlfriend more work. He was not being dumb any idiot can was a plate. Why are so many people defending him.

Would have been funny if you hadn't noticed.

Oh, come on, this is not a FML. He set up the romantic dinner... just thank him for that. Talk to him about washing the dishes some other time.

Washing dishes is not that hard; your boyfriend is either extremely incompetent or just straight out lazy. I'd hate to image what his own place is/was like considering his lack of cleanliness, probably moldy and full of bacteria. And for those who are saying she should be grateful he tried, no. He shouldn't have even offered if he wasn't going to do it right, so useless.
