Today, my boyfriend surprised me by offering me a foot massage to ease my sore feet after a run. I asked for a lot of pressure. Now I'm back home in a walking boot after being diagnosed with a fractured fifth metatarsal bone. FML

I don't have time to sugarcoat things when I want to point something out. Yes, that can come off as rude. Basically people will jump to just about everybody's defense because they want to feel good about themselves. Case in point, #18.

If it were the pinky toe it would be considered a phalange. since it is metatarsal that means it must be a bone in her actual foot. Not a toe and not quite up to the ankle. Hope that helped!

I imagine that it would be very very hard to break the metatarsal bones by hand accidentally. OP probably had micro fractures in her metatarsals due to running, this happens a lot and weakens the bone. This is probably why it broke.
