He sounds honest. I stayed with a sweet, honest guy like this for ten years for his good qualities, even married him. But you should think twice before you're that committed. People tell you who they are. His view on the world may not work for you in the long term.

I would just meh and get on with my life. Thank goodness I'm polygamorus... love em for who they are. If they are a big sweety who snuggles you and is a good companion, then keep your relationship. It's companionship that people are mostly after. Besides, we all enjoy gifts sometimes~
