Today, my long-distance British boyfriend of 7 years canceled his plane ticket to visit me in the USA. He claims he "doesn't have enough money" to stay for 2 weeks. As I began canceling all the reservations, he called to say he bought a new car and a house. FML

Today, my boyfriend gave me an ultimatum: either cancel my amazing work trip or stay with him. I chose the trip and he assured me he’d be gone by the time I got back. His issue? My boss thought it’d be cheaper to get an AirBnB instead of getting us all hotel rooms, and that men are also going. FML

Today, I told my boyfriend I wouldn't be able to get any time off work to go to Mexico with him, and that we'd have to get our tickets refunded, and reschedule. He said not to bother, and that he already had someone else in mind to take with him. FML

Today, my boyfriend wanted to take me to a movie after days of not seeing me. This long-awaited date involved me paying for food and my movie ticket when he ran out of cash again. He then dumped me as we left the theater walking to his car. Yes, I financed my own breakup date. FML

Today, I got home from visiting my long-distance girlfriend. I spent $366 to get a plane ticket to visit her for the week. The day after I arrived there, she broke up with me and I had to buy a ticket for an earlier flight home. With fees and penalties, I paid around $550 to be broken up with. FML

Tell him he needs better excuses [: Look on the bright side, MAYBE he feels bad for you, because you pay everything and wants a girl where he can be able to pay also. Or maybe he is just a gold digger. Good Luck though xD

And who's gonna pay his rent and bills while he's away? People don't think about these things, he obviously did making him a smart man. It's pretty shallow to think otherwise, use your brains people.

ya you have to consider that maybe especially with the way the economy is right now he can't afford to take the time off work, i mean companies are looking for people that have the dedication to stick around and he probably has some bills to pay so it might not be as bad as it sounds, i havent taken a vacation in 3 years for those exact reasons.

I had an ex like this. Turns out, as long as he got emotional support from me on the phone, he could get the physical support wherever he wanted. If he's not cheating on you, then he doesn't think you guys are going to last much longer and is just trying to save you the money. It sucks. Alot. But you can get over him. Good luck!
