Today, my boyfriend told me he wants to break up. But not until after our anniversary tomorrow, because he's already gotten dinner reservations for us. FML

Your boyfriend needs to be your ex boyfriend, and he needs to go to dinner alone. As for you my dear you need to hold your head high and your middle finger higher.

Show up for dinner with a date. You're single aren't you?

Solution 1: Stand him up at the restaurant. Solution 2: Show up, order the most expensive thing on the menu, then dine and dash. (I wouldn't usually recommend that, but since he seems to be such a douche...)

Stand him up, or go and order the most expensive thing there is and kindly 'excuse yourself to the bathroom'.

I got beat to it, several times. I am aware.

Tell him you'll only allow the break up to be on hold if he buys you an expensive gift. Then you get free dinner, a present, and possibly great break up sex. Win-win all around! :)

That sounds great... Sell your self respect for a bit of food and a present... OP, go to the restaurant and kick the ****** in the balls as hard as you can...

Go ahead and have the free dinner with him, then at the end, kick him in his balls and walk out like a boss... Win/win... What an asshat!

Just go get the most expensive dish and drink screw it treat yourself to an expensive dessert and just leave after you're done.

How odd. I've heard of guys breaking up with their girlfriends a day before their anniversary, just so he won't have to spend any more money on her.

Free dinner or not, I personally wouldn't go... Have some pride and tell the man no! Then break it off with him first... Then emphasize how he is the absolute worst!

I wouldn't recommend you go to dinner. In theory it sounds good to get a free meal and take advantage but I really think the awkwardness is going to ruin your evening. The bad feelings are already there. Besides he must really want to go and won't go alone so you'd still be giving him what he wants without regard for yourself. I'd cancel last minute and ruin the arrogant pricks night. If you do go, you deserve everything that comes with it.
