Maybe he doesn't know how to deal with death
I'm sorry to here that OP A boyfriend should support you in times of need. Needless to say, he's a dick
Maybe your father told him he never wanted him at his funeral if you two lasted that long
Sorry for your loss Op
That was beyond selfish. You should probably reevaluate that relationship.
Everyone saying to just 'dump him' are ignoring the fact that firstly- it's not his parent .and there could be bad blood between them. Second- something could have happened and he needed to do some work. Thirdly- we have no idea how long they have been dating . People move in with eachother in a week now-a-days. Maybe the relationship isn't at the stage where he feels comfortable meeting family at this type of gathering.
maybe it was just too depressing for him, but of course it would have been nice if him to be there to comfort you
According to my calculations, your boyfriend is an ass.

That's horrible of him. I'm not saying you should dump him, but this is one case where you should consider it.
or maybe he has a hard time dealing with his emotions in situations like that. could be a million reasons why he didn't go buy you'll never know until you talk with him OP.
