What about a bus? Or coworker?
hopefully public transit is an option
Make him get you a taxi.
I hope there's a bus route near you...
Ok I posted this without an account, and I felt it needed a bit more explaination. We do hav insurance, however it is liability and it was his fault, so damages to my car are not covered, there is no public transport here, there are taxies but they are cost prohibitive, so now I have to hope I can get a ride (unlikely as we are very new here and have no friends) or hope I can find a job within walking distance
suspended license? if not, (assuming he's covered) you could surely get an insurance claim, no?
Kind of a shitty fml
Some states don't mandate having auto insurance, it might be one of those situations. Where there's a will, there's always a way OP. Good luck.
Op is posting from Illinois which does require mandatory insurance.
Liability only. And they don't check. Some states require you to insure your vehicle then register it. Illinois does not.
Illinois only mandates liability insurance (just in case you hit someone else). It does not cover the damage to your car if you are at fault.

Insurance? If your boyfriend is driving uninsured or the car is uninsured then YDI. Otherwise there's no need to "work" to fix/get the car's money
Can a coworker or friends give you a ride?
