OP here! I would love to move his litter box but in a one bedroom apartment it's pretty useless, unless I want the smell in the bedroom or living room/kitchen! As for shutting the door, I probably should! Took me a little while to realize what he was doing, since this is a recent habit of his. The little turd (pun intended) used to chill with me as I was getting ready and him meowing outside of the door is annoying as hell. But, yeah, all in all, I vacate the premises for a few minutes, light a candle and all is good :)

If the poop is really that bad I'd actually suggest getting your cat checked out he could have some liver issues. One of ours has half a liver (and only half of that half works really) and his poop could knock someone out I swear. But really you should probably move that litter box.
They won't take him to the vet. He's obviously not their favorite pet.
Wouldn't it make sense to just move the litterbox? or close the door while you are getting ready?
Move the litter box

Em can't you just do your make up in a portable mirror and do it your bedroom.
Shut the bathroom door while you do your make up or put the litter box in another location.
Try getting up a little bit earlier.
Why not just move his litter box outside?

I can't make brunch at 9, I have an 8:45 dump scheduled when Megan is doing her makeup.... I just really love her.
What are you feeding him? It's not his fault...
