Today, my college class was talking about Felix Baumgartner, who jumped from the edge of space down to earth. A boy suddenly put his head up and said in a serious tone, "I thought he jumped from the moon?" Several girls concurred. This is my generation. FML

It seems they don't understand the gravity of the situation.

One does not simply jump from the moon.

People can be so stupid. I'm ready to get off of Earth. But I'm grateful I'm not one of those dumb people

Remember our next generation will put an end to humanity, and become even more retarded!

Know what's worse? A 15 year old girl is still getting more attention.

Don't feel too bad. There were people this stupid 10, 50, 100 even 1,000 years ago. We tend to think of previous generations as more serious and mature than ours but they were'nt born adults. At one point they were stupid youngsters just like the ones you come across! If you don't believe me google ancient Roman graffiti ... good stuff, and hey the ancient Romans were a bunch of idiots just like us! On the flip side, we often think of our times as more advanced than any other period in history. SO not true! Ancient Indians, Chinese, Egyptians, Babylonians and Mayans just to name a few had amazing civilizations without the modern technology that we know. They had their own technologies that we don't even understand! Babylonian had batteries, Chinese had flying machines and Some historians even say Egyptians had electricity!

Stop generalizing from one person to an entire generation, and have some pride. We are the most educated, smartest, most peaceful, and most compassionate generation the world has ever known. No previous generation had such a firm belief in the unity of humanity, the value of diversity, or the importance of freedom. Every time you see a stupid or depraved young person, think about the countless other wonderful human beings from our generation--the Pakistani girl standing up to the Taliban, the youth protestors of the Arab Spring, even the young scientists pushing the frontiers of knowledge.
