Maybe he just wanted to make sure he wouldn't back out of the wedding, no matter what. The daddy love right there, although it's a bit awkward
your dad wasn't a former frat boy who thought people actually meant all that bros before hoes bullshit by any chance? what a tard
Am I the only one who wonders if maybe Dad was honest and knew his daughter better than any of us?
maybe he is just trying to chase him away and keep anyone from marrying OP...
Which is still just as bad. If he wanted his daughter to not marry the man,he should have spoke about it with her and not force his thoughts onto her.
Could be that your father is just testing him and seeing how he would respond
"**** off?" More like "**** you!"
What the hell?
He loves you that's all that should matter...
If he loved her, why would he say that about her? Sure, maybe he was saying it to try and get her fiancé to go away, but if so, he's still a jerk for saying he could do better than her. He hurt his daughter by not thinking about how she'd feel if she overheard, which she did. Either way, he's a jackass.
Father knows best!
This happened to my mom when she was in her 20's. Turns out that the guy that she was going to marry was a cheating asshole. The dad was very aware of his sons behavior and was trying to protect her from it since she was a nice girl. So idk about you OP, any skeletons in your closet?

What an asshole dad move!
What's your dad's deal? Usually it's the other way around and they insist that no man is good enough for their princess. But congrats on the engagement either way.
