To the OP: I'm sorry that your daughter can be a bitch, but she is a teenager. I'm sure that she's told you that she loves you before, you just don't remember it. When she gets gets out of the teenage years, she'll be much more like a human being and will be able to express emotions normally.

She gave me money and I bought it. She wasn't upset when she found out. I'm 22 and if I remember correctly, when I was in grade 7 loads of girls wore thongs every single day. I mean you could see the top of them from the back of their jeans. I'd rather see a thong than a naked crack, and granny panties could potentially cause some serious hazing in HS. Girls can be incredibly cruel to one another.

OP: Coming from a daughter that really doesn't get along with her mom, I don't think this is a FML. FOr one, we see thongs as sexual pieces of underwear, but their main purpose is to eliminate the panty line with certain types of pants. I don't know your daughter's reasons for wanting one, but everyone shoul d stop thinking of thongs as sexy uniform (though, if we were talking g-string, that's a different story). Secondly, you won't always get to your daughter they way you think its best. By buying her thongs, she's actually putting a little trust in you. If she wants it to look sexy, maybe that's her way of letting you know that she's at the point in her life when she wants sex.
