Today, my doctor asked me to undo my bra so he could check my breathing without the straps restricting my lungs, I got home and told my friends how awkward it was. Not one of them has had this happen to them before. We all go to the same doctor. FML

just creepy. change doctors and take appropriate action.

Considered that maybe your bra was tighter than your friends? Don't always jump to the worst conclusion.

Maybe your bra is tighter than your friends. I wouldn't jump to conclusions yet.

From what I've gathered, it's generally best for a woman to have a female doctor. Or perhaps a female chaperone during the examination by the male doctor.

While it is odd that none of them ever had the same experience, being asked to remove your bra by a doctor for that reason is not out of the ordinary. Sorry that it made you feel awkward, but don't worry too much unless it was more than just having to remove it. Were you wearing a sports bra or something like that?

Sounds like a start to a porno! In all seriousness i guess you at least have nice boobs?

And you were the only blonde to fall for it. Take your panties off I need to check out your ****** with my penis.

in America we call that sexual harassment

No, in America we call that NORMAL FOR A PATIENT COMING IN WITH A RESPIRATORY COMPLAINT. Ye gods. Her bra was unclasped, not removed, in order to ensure her breathing wasn't being restricted by the straps. Her **** weren't hanging out, she wasn't being groped, she had a chest cold/breathing issue and the doc needed to see and hear how her breathing was. If you think you broke your toe but get upset when the doctor wants you to show your bare foot, you have problems.

that is so not okay :/ I haven't even been told to take my shirt of in situations like that. usually they can just put the stetoscope underneath the shirt anyways :o and i've had both male amd female doctors. -__-

Have you gone in for lung specific complaints? My visits after my two pneumonia bouts always had me bare from the waist up save the paper shirt. They watched and listened really carefully. Also I've been given gowns and told to remove my bra since I turned 13. Not every doc, but often enough. I usually just skip the bra entirely and wear sweats so it doesn't matter, but that's not an option for everyone.
