Today, my dog managed to get into our cabinet and eat an entire bag of hershey kisses. Now she is puking all over the house and outside too. When I called the vet to tell her about it, she said that it was normal, and to call her back when it was "coming out the other end." FML

Chocolate can be deadly to dogs. As stated before depends on the size of the dog, how much they got and the kind of chocolate they got into. Dark chocolate is more potent than milk chocolate therefore being more toxic to the animal. Even if this dog got within the amount where there would just be gastritis signs and automatically vomiting right away, thats bad. You need to have your dog seen cause there is a reaction going on. And even if it isn't a toxic level, and does cause vomiting and diarrhea, if it gets so bad, your animal can likely become dehydrated because of that. Anndd to the peroxide dose, it's 1 tsp per 5lbs or 1 tbsp per 15 pounds, and you don't exceed 3 tbsp even if it calls for it. And don't give it more than 2 times. Take your dog to the vet. Thats the wise idea. I'm a vet tech and work in an emergency hosp. where these things unfortunatly happen all the time.

it depends what kind of chocolate it is. I work at a vets office so I see this slot and there's really nothing u can do other then like the vet ays it starts coming put the other end. u could give it a mixture of 2 oz of hydrogen peroxide and 2 oz of water to make it throw the rest up... which is what the vet should have recommend u do

The thing that I don't get OP (and btw YDI) is why you let the dog puke all over. Just put it in the bathtub.

Our 2 year old dog died because of getting into some Godiva chocolates. You are lucky the dog is alive.
