Because it's a phone, they invalidate all tests. This is because the person could have been texting to send/receive answers. Would it be better to try and find who they were texting? Yes. But this strict rule is to prevent cheating from happening in the first place
At least it wasn't YOUR phone.
That's crazy! We had to take ours during school too, but they only voided that person's test.
