I don't think I'd have rushed you to the hospital just because your eye started hurting either, presuming it wasn't because of a accident, and I imagine the ambulance people would've been pretty annoyed about being called out for something not urgent. Next time man up a bit and put some ice on it or something before wasting people's time.
Suddenly being unable to see out of an eye is considered serious enough. The EMTs wouldn't be upset.
Um, no. They would not be annoyed. And if your eye hurts or your vision has been impacted, you probably shouldn't be driving yourself to the hospital with one workable eye. Driving around with dry, gritty contacts is distracting enough, forget about intense pain or vision loss.
Calling an ambulance for eye pain is a waste of time. It was most likely just a migraine seeing as he doesn't say it's part of a condition he has where it could actually be something serious. If his Dad had already ordered, an ambulance isn't going to get there that much before his Dad's ready to go and getting an ambulance means you're seen straight away, making the wait time for other people longer.
Just use birth control, ok? We don't really need more parents like that.
Pretty sure OP said he called a cab to go to the hospital, not an ambulance. Read more carefully before you start insulting people.
