#27, in Canada you're entitled to bereavement leave and can't be punished for taking it. It's like maternity/paternity leave :)
ah the joys of living in Alberta
Don't quite know what you are talking about. Alberta has bereavement leave. Just need to have the funeral home email a copy of the death certificate to the employer.
There is something known as bereavement and funeral process. If your boss does not understand this tell him "he better gets to office on time on his dad's death"
Can you sue him?
Tell him in this situation a normal person says "My condolences."
This reminds me of how college professors demand a death certificate to be absent from class. Like shit, have some respect, most people aren't going to lie about it and if they do, who cares. I'm so so sorry for your loss! Take as much time off as you need..
Such people are real bastards! They are perfect prototype of a regressive, insecure, defeated and totally failed breed called "boss". Hit back to such ann asshole and look for another job!
Your boss is an asshole!!! And an insensitive prick. So sorry to hear about the death of your father. My condolences.
