Absolutely no chance for a day off? Seriously? You have my condolences OP
Maybe he just has trouble dealing with grieving people. I'm super awkward with grief and often make jokes at inappropriate times to handle it
just wow...really hope he isn't really that insensitive
the day my son was born I had to go work a full 8 hour shift f u bosses
You should probably quit. A real boss cares about his employees and understands when a loved one is dead, and not make you come into work. He's arrogant.
When my sister died last year, my manager's reaction (handed to her by a partner, I am certain) was "Well, I suppose you'll need some time off for this. But remember, we're at the beginning of busy season and we're short-staffed, so we don't have anyone to cover your work. So any time you take off for this, you'll just have to make that time up later." I have never wanted so badly to walk out on a job, and if I didn't have to pay rent, I would have. I've been looking for another job ever since.
It's sad to say but some people are heartless until they lose someone close to them. I lost my mom last year. Keep your head up OP, things get better!
This proves that people are born ruthless, selfish, and are the ultimate scum of this earth.
