Today, my father sent me a letter in the mail. He spelled my first name wrong on the front of the envelope. I'm turning 28 years old and my own father doesn't know that my name has two "t"s in it. FML

not really an fml..i mean as parents get older they forget things... shoot my momma cant tell me (im a female) and my brother apart on the phone, and not only does she forget our birthdays, she forgets hers as well as we get older, small mistakes like that should not bother us like farreal

Well, "Bret", you have two choices: either your father hates you, and is passive-aggressively trying to drive you insane by purposely misspelling your name. I'm sure sending the birthday card now was his way of saying, "by the time July rolls around, I will have killed you in your sleep." or, your father loves you, and made a simple human mistake writing your name. Or maybe he's just a lousy speller. He probably bought the card because it made him think of you, and didn't want to wait for July to send it. Or possibly he just forgot (do you have a sibling with a birthday around now?). Either way, he was kind enough to send you post - be thankful.

dont worry about it, its happened to me too and hes the one that named me. he also told someone i was 13 when i was 16 at the time. it happens.

My mom forgot my middle name and wrote down my sister's instead and then wrote the wrong date for my birthday. Your dad was probably tired. No biggie.
