I'd be breaking some doors down if my dog was stolen. I don't see it as an overreaction either, to some people they're like children. I hope you get your dog back, OP. Good luck.

I'd be going over there with a baseball bat and telling him he either gives me my dog back, or replaces every window and light on his car. I'm sure he'd hand the dog over quick. ?

Call him and if he has an answering machine, tell him if he doesn't give the dog back and keeps refusing to answer you you'll call the police.
