Do you really want to spend the rest of your life with someone who treats you like this? I married my high school sweetheart and a) he's never made me feel anything but beautiful, even when I was 100 pound overweight, b) I still love him as much now, no more, as the day we married, and c) I trust him completely with my heart. If the man you intend to marry is insulting in your proposal, which should be something he plans and practices, how will he react when times are tough? Think 10, 20, or 30 years down the road. Do you see yourself with him still treating you like this? Better? Worse? If you can't demand respect from him now, before you've made a permanent commitment, when will you? This is not the right time. Put it off until he grows up and leaned to respect you and until you learn to love yourself enough to say, "I am the entire package. I don't settle and won't be settled for."
