One word. Karma. =P
Another server here to say "**** you twice". Hope you didn't get your purse back so you know what it's like to lose something.
"#51 - you're saying the government deducts more tax from your earnings than you actually earn? What, they tax you 110% or something? Think it through." Of course not. They do, however, tax tips. And there's also insurance and such that is taken from wages...I know a server who has come out OWING money on a paycheck.
The people on here are so stuffy, I bet a lot of you would have been tempted to do the same in that situation. I thought it was very funny but the OP clearly should have brushed up on their ''dashing'' skills
Stuffy? No. What you are looking at is comments from a bunch of servers who think and know it is stupid to dine and dash. That is STEALING. You're an asshole and I hope you get caught up and persecuted.
Why didn't you just complain about the service or ask for the manager? You probably would've gotten your meal comped anyway.
You deserved that. I'm also guessing you're blonde.
Hey, ******* dumbass! I'm a server, and a good one at that, but even I have my off days. Grow up and realize that everyone is human, and you're TOTALLY capable of talking to a manager. As for all of you who say that servers have to pay if someone dines and dashes, as per what I've heard (and this is all hearsay and may only be the case in Nevada where I live), that is highly illegal, and businesses can incur very heavy fines for forcing their employees to pay for dine and dashers. If you're a server and have had to pay for dine and dashers, be sure to look up the laws in your state to see if that's actually legal. ZeroCSS, I'm blonde. Got a problem with that?
But shaelface if the servers admit that, then they'd get tips based on their service, like tips are supposed to be given for, instead of being handed excessive tips based on lies like the one about how they only make around $2/hour - which isn't true in any modern country
$2/hour isn't a lie, it depends on where you live. A lot of midwestern states pay crap for minimum wage and even more so if you are working in a position that is tipped out. It's sad and hard to believe in modern America people are still getting paid so little money, but it's how the cookie crumbles

Why would you EVER think that was okay? "Oh, the service sucks, I'll just steal the food." YDI.
I hate people like you. You deserve everything thats going to happen to you.
