Today, my friend asked me if she could borrow my laptop and I can pick it up later and I said ok. I stop by her house later and no one answers. The next-door neighbor says that she left to go live with her mom. She lives in Detroit. I live in Maine. FML

Laptop is a very personal thing, like a lingerie i must say. Why to give it to anyone at all? Find the bitch and smack her down.

funny how you start it off with "my friend" she doesnt sound too friendly

1) She is not your friend... at least not anymore, I hope 2) ppl are right, laptop is too personal thing to give it to anyone 3) get it back, or/and report as stolen telling by whom

Call the police and report it stolen, if it's worth over $1k they may follow it up because she clearly asked to borrow it with the intent to steal it. You can also file in small claims court, you may never collect it, but you can get a judgment against her, which will **** up her credit while it remains unpaid. :)

hahaha that sucks..excuse to buy a better laptop?..used to live in Maine..people are definitely sketch balls up there

lol @ #13... yup, I used to live in New Brunswick, on the border of Madawaska, Maine. Yup, sketch balls sums it up!

Um, call the police. That's not "borrowing", that's theft!

Bah, that sucks. No way to contact her?

Didn't she ever mention to you, perhaps in months or even weeks passed, that she was moving? And I agree with all of the above, call the police.
